The Wedding Crashers have discovered the slavers lair - rooms full of cages containing distressed and dishevelled looking people of all races, colours, ages and sexes. They've also successfully dispatched a number of Orc guards without raising alarms!

But now Womac and Grogg have wandered off down a corridor and are arguing over who gets to open it. However, when Grogg finally gets bored with the argument and pulls it open a strange thing happens - the floor falls away to become a sharp and smooth slide - with both men sliding to whatever fate lay at the bottom waiting for them.

The night in the Temple of Gruumsh passed quietly, only the occasional sobbing and coughing from the remaining 8 slaves punctuated the silence. The threat from within the temple seemed to have been nipped in the bud - but what lay below?

In the very early hours of the morning the group started moving the dead out into the courtyard where Womac found a small and exquisitely crafted figurine of a troll around about where the large beast was last seen. Having heard whispers of figurines of great power and sensing that there was magic inside this one, he quickly pocketed it. Then the group returned to the temple to prepare for the decent through the door on the floor.

There were now 4 of the Wedding Crashers on the roof peering over into the crowded courtyard below ... a couple of over-turned tables gave cover to some orcs with crossbows, a small cart carried a weird looking contraption with barrels at one end and a metal tube at the other. There were a dozen or so orcs and a 1/2 orc in a robe ready and waiting for the group.

Grogg and Womac moved out of the inner garden into the corridor towards the courtyard and a couple of the orcs moved to attack them, then with crossbow bolts and arrows filling the area like a kicked hornets nest, the battle began in earnest. The 1/2 orc in the robe cast a spell and ran for the double doors exiting the courtyard as quick as he could as the area began to fill with the sounds of battle.

The exit from Daggerford was quick and painless - no fuss, no shouts of "Oi you!" and no torch bearing mobs! Quite unusual for the Wedding Crashers and a bit of a disappointment for Grogg.

After a couple of hours the group found themselves back on the track to the temple - Caled was sent silently forward to scan the track back to their camp after smoke was smelled coming down it.

The camp was quiet as everyone rested after the battle and trek back to the carts. Edgeler rifled through the body of the dead mage pulling out coins and spell components - Celad passed a scroll to Womac and a wand to Alana.

Once everyone had caught their collective breaths, the discussion turned to what to do next and it was decided that a trip back to town would be the best idea now that whomever was still in the fortress temple would know that they were under attack. Bones were aching, supplies were low and a bit of rest and recuperation would be welcomed - and anyway Grogg was out of beer.

The fight with the undead was over and the fight with the norsemen looked as though it was about to kick off.

"The drow killed Alfredssonson." shouted their leader.

Friendly or Unfriendly Fire?

The capture/rescued slaves were all strong looking men from the icy wastes of the North. They thanked the party for their rescue (although there appeared to be some contention on the issue of whether they had been in fact rescued) and agreed to help the party storm the temple.

With that the party made camp and attempted unsuccessfully to contact Blackstaff again using the stone. No answer. The only noise coming from Vess as he muttered constantly about being used and abused as pawns in a much larger game. And everyone knows pawns are expendable.

"Are you sure?" asked Edge, knowing immediately that: a) Celad was invariable correct when it came to his ability to spot and b) he hadn't heard Celad make one single joke in his 12 months of knowing him. "Andreais? Really?" But Celad was already drawing the cart to a halt and jumping down to confused looks from his compatriots.

"Andreais just ran across in front of me" explained Celad to confused looks around him, "He was pale, dirty and in a bit of a mess but it was him I swear. Oh and I think he recognised me too. Headed off that way." He pointed east into the forest.

Character - Andreais

Myandar
Name: Andreais
Class: Necromancer
Race: Human
Gender: Male
Height, Weight: 6', 150lbs
Clothing: Dirty, black robes with a heavy leather over-coat. Long leather gloves and heavy boots strapped up to his knees
What you know: Andreais was more at home in a graveyard than an inn and happy when alone due to his complete awkwardness in company. Originally from Waterdeep he spent most of his childhood and young adult life in a mental institution for having slain his own parents when he was a child of 4 yrs old.
What is he like: Quiet, intelligent and withdrawn most of the time. The only thing different about Andreais was his lightning fast temper - one second placid and the next foaming at the mouth kicking, screaming and biting. And the strangest, smallest things would set it off. Completely obsessed with undeath.

Vess climbed over the dead body of the half-orc in the back of the merchants wagon and searched thoroughly for the gem bag that Womac had recently given over. After a few minutes he turned and grinned at the huge, ugly Cleric of Gruumsh showing off the bulging bag of gems as they were joined by the rest of the party.

"Right then, what are we doing?" looking at Ril.
